Barbara Ann Scott Comments

Canada's First Olympic Figure Skating Champion: Barbara Ann
Scott was the first Canadian to win a gold medal in Olympic
figure skating. In 1945, 1947, and 1948, Barbara Ann Scott
won the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete of the
year. She has been inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall
of Fame, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, the Ottawa Sports
Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
Scott was also made an Officer of the Order of Canada, and
was inducted into the International Women's Sports Hall of
Fame.
