His impressive stats aside (no player has more interceptions
than Reed's 34 since he entered the NFL), it's Reed's
intellect and ability that have elevated him among his peers
and drawn praise from NFL talent evaluators. New England
Patriots coach Bill Belichick called Reed "as good as
anybody I've ever seen." What's so great? It's his
ability to play the deep zone, according to Belichick, that
frees up his teammates to patrol more of the field. A
four-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team all pro, Reed
was the 2004 Defensive Player of the Year.
