Wilson worked first as a model in Australia and Europe
before moving to Los Angeles in 1991 to study acting with
Arthur Mendoza of the Actors Circle Theatre and Tom Waits of
the TomKat Repertory Group. She landed small roles in
independent films such as Loser and One of Our Own and in
1996, ready to continue acting studies in New York, she was
persuaded to audition for USA Network and beat out 200 other
actresses for the starring role in the Canadian/US
television series La Femme Nikita, based on the Luc Besson
movie Nikita.
